Another ordinary day on Torishiro Island begins. After Takahara Hairi's offer to help organize the storage shed was gently declined by Misaki Kyoko, he takes his usual stroll around the island. He then encounters Kushima Kamome, a highly curious girl dragging a large suitcase.

10 years from now on, when we meet again, the secret of the island we found today will be sealed inside this box. Hairi decides to spend this summer vacation adventuring alongside Kushima Kamome. To open the treasure chest they discovered in the elementary school attic, they begin searching for four keys based on a code written in a notebook.

Guided by the map they obtained from opening the treasure box, Hairi and Kamome set off on an adventure. The mark indicated on the map is said to lead to a pirate ship that Kamome discovered 10 years ago with friends she met at summer camp. Walking along the tracks of a now-unused trolley line, Hairi and Kamome head toward the cave that leads to the place where the pirate ship was once found.

Immediately after discovering the pirate ship, Kamome vanishes before Hairi like an illusion. Seeking help from the local youth association, Hairi reenters the cave to search for her. There, he finds only Kamome's suitcase, which contains a single, old children's book named The Adventure of the Catbeard Brigade. This discovery triggers Hairi's lost memories.
