When they come to, they are in front of Mont Saint-Michel, Faceless’s main base. However, wild beast tamer Dr. Lao is also there.

But just as she is staring death in the face, Masaru’s words flash through her mind.

However, Masaru is in danger of being overpowered by his numerically superior opponents, until he is joined by reinforcements in the form of Colombine and Lise. As the two of them tackle the Final Four, Masaru engages Faceless in one-on-one combat in an attempt to rescue Éléonore.

Faceless’s plan to download himself into Masaru looked to have succeeded, but inside Masaru’s head a fierce struggle unfolds as his mind attempts to resist Faceless’s efforts to take over. With the rocket’s launch time drawing ever nearer, Masaru again engages Faceless in a duel. Meanwhile, elsewhere in the monastery, Colombine and Diamantina face off in their own head-to-head battle.

Thanks to Guy’s sacrifice, most of the automata have been destroyed. However, those that survived the explosion once again target the train in which Narumi and his companions are traveling. Having escaped before the blast occurred, Masaru is also attempting to catch up to the train. On the train, Hiro and Nori reminisce with Mr. Nakamachi about their late mother as they await the coming battle.

After meeting up again with the members of the Nakamachi Circus, Masaru learns that Narumi is also on the same train. Masaru rushes to see Narumi again, only for his path to be blocked by Arlequino and Pantalone. Narumi, meanwhile, seems still to be filled with hatred for Éléonore, but there are signs his memory may gradually be returning.

Masaru and Narumi have finally reunited and they team up to repel the attacking automata. Masaru then declares that he will board the space shuttle instead of the exhausted Narumi. Meanwhile, near to the launch site, Éléonore is cornered by Harlequin.

After boarding the space station, Masaru has a final showdown with Faceless, who wields his own version of Arlequin. Faceless persistently questions Masaru about why he handed Éléonore over to Narumi. As their battle heats up, the countdown to the extinction of the human race by ZONAPHA syndrome begins.
